COVID Safety Practices

As experienced food service professionals, Klein Kitchen takes extreme care to ensure the health and safety of both our clients and chefs, particularly in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Fortunately, food workers have become eligible for the vaccine, and nearly all our chefs are now fully vaccinated. That said, we continue to observe CDC guidelines for social distancing, cleaning protocols, and PPE adherence while shopping for and preparing your food. We also ensure our chefs complete regular symptom evaluations and make sure they self-isolate if they show any signs of illness, COVID-19 or otherwise, or if they've come into contact with someone who has tested positive. Our cuisine is tailored to each individual client—seriously! We’ve collaborated with client nutritionists, accommodated complex diets, and tailored our menus to inspire and delight diverse individual tastes season after season.

How much does it cost?

Our part-time rates begin at $350 per day, and our dinner parties begin at $75 per guest. As a bespoke experience, however, each client’s costs are different and depend on many factors, such as headcount, cuisine, and days of service. Just reach out to us with your needs, and we’d be happy to build you a customized quote.

We don’t call ourselves “matchmakers” lightly, and our extensive network is our secret weapon. We work closely with a wide variety of top-tier chefs who specialize in an even wider array of cuisines, styles, and dietary restrictions, and we pride ourselves on personalizing our matches to each and every client.


After discussing your preferences, lifestyle, and diet with you, we’ll hand-select one of these stellar chefs to fit your precise personal needs. You’ll be put in touch directly with your chef in case you need to chat further, but we’ll take care of every arrangement for you.

Klein Kitchen also delivers a completely bespoke experience. None of our clients choose from the same set of predetermined menus, when it comes to food or any other part of the service.


What diets do you accommodate?

This answer would be a lot shorter if we explained which diets we don’t accommodate: which is to say, we haven’t found one yet! Our clients love food, and our chefs are endlessly creative at indulging that love while also making sure their every dietary restriction is followed to the letter. Will you work with my nutritionist/trainer/therapist/allergist/etc?

We’d love to! Our chefs are experienced at collaborating to deliver delicious foods that support all your health needs and goals.

What if I prefer not to have someone cook in my kitchen?

We get it. We’re always happy to prepare your food offsite and deliver it to your door, whether it’s one meal or several days’ worth of food.

Can I have a part-time chef?

Definitely! Our service is tailored to each individual client, and that includes accommodating different schedules and budget commitments. Whether it’s one day a week or five, just let us know what you’re looking for, and we’ll handle the rest.

What if my schedule changes, or if I’m traveling?

Many of our clients have demanding schedules involving frequent travel (at least, during non-pandemic years…). Your chef will be waiting for you upon your return, and provided you give us notice in advance, you’ll never be charged for services while you’re away. See our cancellation policy below for more details, and get in touch if you want to talk about any specific accommodations.

What’s your cancellation policy?

We require a cancellation at least 48 hours in advance of any dinner party to provide a full refund, and 24 hours in advance of any part-time chef service.

Will I still get to have the same chef if I’m only doing part-time service?

Absolutely. Our matches are carefully chosen for you, and they’ll remain your chef no matter what level of service you have. We believe building a personal relationship with a chef who knows your tastes inside and out is key to having a successful experience.

What if I don’t like my chef?

As your personal concierge, Klein Kitchen is here to ensure you get outstanding service and that your culinary needs are met every time. If any issues arise, we’ll immediately source a new chef to take over your meals without interruption. We also welcome your feedback after any service so we can deliver an even more tailored experience.

Where do you source your ingredients?

Locally! We pride ourselves on an “earth-to-table” approach. Our chefs shop at the best farmers markets in the area to get the freshest possible produce. We’re also happy to source ingredients from any of your favorite grocers or specialty stockists.

What does the service include?

Part-time, full-time, or individual events: no matter what experience you’re getting, Klein Kitchen always provides menu design, grocery shopping, prep work, table service, and a sparkling clean-up.

Do I need to own certain kitchen appliances or pantry items?

Your chef will let you know well in advance of your service if any special equipment is needed. If you don’t have the specific item, we’re happy to purchase it with your approval, or to make other arrangements.

Do you provide waiters, furniture rentals, or party decor?

Klein Kitchen is a full-service company, and arranging everything you need for the perfect event is no exception. In addition to chefs, we’re happy to source servers, furniture rentals, designers, decor, and more from our trusted network of professionals. If you have any questions about hosting an event, just let us know.

Do you screen your chefs?

Yes: all our chefs come from top restaurants or from years of private chef experience (or both), but we also vet them personally. This thorough process includes a personal interview, a tasting, and an extensive onboarding session. The Klein Kitchen network is built on experience, trust, and proven excellence, and we’ll never send a chef into your kitchen unless they’ve cooked for us in ours.

Can you manage cooking for my family of six?

We’d love to! No family is too big or too small for our team, and furthermore, our day rate is always the same. You can also always reach out to us to modify your headcount from meal to meal—the only thing that will fluctuate is the cost of groceries.

How do you handle billing and payments?

We’ll manage billing for you, so everything is completely seamless. You can pay our invoices via credit cards, bank transfers, or check. The only exception is tipping, which is handled directly between you and your chef. See below!

Should I tip my chef? How?

Tipping is always based on the quality of your experience, and is made directly to your chef, at your discretion. For guidance, we recommend tipping for our dinner party/event service the same way you would at a restaurant. If you’d like to discuss tipping further, don’t hesitate to reach out!
